Objective

Skills training is standardized, fully conducted at accredited centers, and culminates in the award of the Malaysian Skills Certificate.

Requirements and eligibility

The Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) is a nationally recognized certification awarded by the Department of Skills Development (JPK) for skilled workers. It covers Levels 1-3 (SKM).

Requirements:

  • Malaysian citizens
  • Applicants must be aged between 15 and 55 years in the year of application
  • Must successfully complete the required evaluation
  • The applicant must not be declared bankrupt and must not be blacklisted by any financial institution
  • Having 3R skills (Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic) is a fundamental requirement for participating in vocational training and understanding learning modules in TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training)
